CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s game vs. Houston, the Chicago White Sox placed infielder Elvis Andrus on the 10-day injured list with a strained left oblique and reinstated infielder/outfielder Romy Gonzalez from the 10-day injured list.
Gonzalez has been on the injured list since May 1 with right shoulder inflammation. He is hitting .139 (5-36) in 21 games with the White Sox this season.
Andrus suffered the injury during his final at-bat of last night’s game vs. the Astros. He is hitting .201/.280/.254 (27-134) with four doubles, one home run and 13 RBI in 39 games this season, his second with Chicago.
