MLS Preview: Montreal Impact CF (6-3-2) at Nashville SC (4-4-3)

Nashville has never lost to CF Montréal in MLS, winning twice, and drawing twice. Both wins came away from Nashville (1 in Montreal, 1 in New Jersey) while both draws were in Nashville. Montreal is the only MLS team to make multiple visits to Nashville without losing at least once.

Nashville is unbeaten in its last 21 home matches (W11 D10, including playoffs) dating back to November 2020. Nashville has scored in each of its last 17 home matches, last failing to find the net in a scoreless draw with Inter Miami in May 2021.

CF Montréal extended its club record unbeaten run to eight games with a win over Charlotte FC on Saturday (W6 D2), its third straight victory. Montreal’s 20 points from those eight games are the most its ever collected in an eight-match stretch in club history.

C.J. Sapong has not enjoyed facing Montreal in his career, scoring just twice in 22 career matches against them. Sapong’s 0.12 goals per 90 minutes rate against Montreal is the second lowest he has against any opponent he’s faced at least 10 times in his MLS career (0.10 vs. Seattle).

Djordje Mihailovic scored his sixth goal of the season in Montreal’s win over Charlotte, already a career single season best in MLS (6th season). Mihailovic’s 10 goal contributions (6 goals, 4 assists) are tied for most in MLS this season.
