The Pittsburgh Pirates today reinstated right-handed pitcher JT Brubaker from the paternity list and recalled right-handed pitcher Miguel Yajure (pronounced yuh-HOO-ray) from Triple-A Indianapolis.
To make room for Brubaker and Yajure on the 26-man active roster, left-handed pitchers Eric Stout and Cam Vieaux have been optioned to Triple-A.
This is Yajure’s third stint with the Pirates this season. He was a member of the team’s Opening Day roster before being optioned to Indianapolis on May 2. He was also with the Pirates from June 27-28.
Prior to his promotion back to the Pirates, the 24-year-old Yajure recorded 25 strikeouts in five appearances (four starts) this month, which were tied for the 10th-most in the International League. He also allowed a combined three earned runs in 10.0 innings while striking out 14 batters in his last two appearances (one start) with Indianapolis.
