Philadelphia Phillies Reinstate Brandon Marsh, Option Cal Stevenson to Triple-A

Philadelphia, PA Ahead of tonight’s matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Philadelphia Phillies have reinstated outfielder Brandon Marsh from his rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, returning him to the active roster. In a corresponding move, outfielder Cal Stevenson has been optioned to Lehigh Valley, following last night’s game.

Phillies President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski made the announcement.

Marsh Returns After Strong Rehab Stint

Marsh, 27, appeared in six rehab games with Lehigh Valley, posting a .300/.400/.450 (.850 OPS) slash line over 25 plate appearances. He went 6-for-20 with:
1 home run
6 RBI
4 walks, 8 strikeouts
2 stolen bases

Defensively, Marsh made five starts in center field and one as designated hitter during his assignment.

Originally drafted by Los Angeles (Angels) in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft, the Buford, GA native was acquired by the Phillies on August 2, 2022, in a trade for Logan O’Hoppe.

Stevenson Sent Down After Brief Stint

Stevenson, 28, appeared in five games for Philadelphia this season, recording a .250 batting average (8 at-bats).

A 10th-round selection by Toronto (2018 MLB Draft), Stevenson was claimed off waivers by Philadelphia from San Francisco on May 26, 2023.
