Boston, MA – The Boston Red Sox have made several roster adjustments ahead of their upcoming games, reinstating left-handed pitcher Brennan Bernardino from the Bereavement List and adding infielder/outfielder Abraham Toro to the active roster. In corresponding moves, the club placed first baseman Triston Casas on the 10-day injured list (left patellar tendon rupture) and optioned right-handed pitcher Luis Guerrero to Triple-A Worcester.
Following these transactions, the Red Sox maintain a full 40-man roster.
Bernardino Returns to Red Sox Bullpen
Bernardino, 33, has been a reliable bullpen arm this season, posting a 2.45 ERA (3 ER/11.0 IP) across 11 appearances. He most recently delivered a scoreless ninth inning against Toronto, striking out two.
Originally selected by Cincinnati in the 26th round of the 2014 MLB Draft, the California native has pitched in 125 career Major League games (nine starts), recording a 3.52 ERA (45 ER/115.0 IP) with Seattle (2022) and Boston (2023-25).
Toro Joins Active Roster
Toro, 28, has been productive in 28 games with Triple-A Worcester, slashing .310 (31-for-100) with seven doubles, two triples, and two home runs. He has split time across multiple positions, making:

Originally drafted by Houston in the fifth round of the 2016 MLB Draft, the Quebec native has amassed 365 MLB appearances with Houston (2019-21), Seattle (2021-22), Milwaukee (2023), and Oakland (2024). He will wear No. 29 for Boston.
Casas Heads to Injured List
Casas, 25, exited Tuesday’s game against Minnesota in the second inning due to injury. The left-handed hitter has played in 29 games this season, batting .182 (18-for-99) with three doubles and three home runs.
A first-round pick by Boston (No. 26 overall) in the 2018 MLB Draft, Casas has compiled a .241 career average (197-for-816) with 45 home runs and 120 RBI across 251 games.
Guerrero Returns to Worcester
Guerrero, 24, made three appearances for Boston this season, tossing 4.0 scoreless innings with one hit and three strikeouts. In eight outings for Worcester, he has recorded a 5.23 ERA (6 ER/10.1 IP) with one save.
Selected by Boston in the 17th round of the 2021 MLB Draft, Guerrero has yet to allow an earned run in his first 12 MLB outings, limiting opponents to a .152 batting average (7-for-46) with two walks and 12 strikeouts in 14.0 innings.
