LAST GAME: March 9, 5-4 win at Seattle: Ottawa recorded their first win in franchise history at Climate Pledge Arena after emerging with a 5-4 victory at Seattle. The road team jumped out to a 3-0 lead as Pinto registered his sixth game-opening goal of the season (most on the club) at 4:10 of the opening stanza before the two newest Senators, Chychrun and Brown (in his first game with Ottawa), tallied 17 seconds apart in the first period to mark the club’s two fastest road goals since 12/4/19. McCann (two), Schwartz and Dunn all found the back of the net for Seattle as the Kraken registered four unanswered goals to take the lead before Giroux and DeBrincat (with 2:23 remaining in the game) replied in the third period to provide the night’s final score. Holden and Stützle both registered two assist contests. Sogaard made 29 saves to earn the win for Ottawa while Grubauer turned aside 26 shots in taking the loss for Seattle.
