The Stars’ three-game winning streak came to an end following a 5-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena on Tuesday. Rookie Wyatt Johnston (1-0—1) recorded his 18th goal of the season, captain Jamie Benn (1-1—2) tallied his 29th goal of 2022-23 and defenseman Miro Heiskanen (0-2—2) extended his point streak to eight consecutive games with his fourth straight multi-point effort. Making his second career start, goaltender Matt Murray made 14 saves on 19 shots in the loss.

TONIGHT’S GAME: Dallas’ season-long six-game road trip has reached the penultimate stop as the club takes on the Edmonton Oilers tonight at Rogers Place. (8 p.m. CT, TV: Bally Sports Southwest, Radio: The Ticket 96.7-FM/1310-AM). This is third and final meeting of the regular season between the two clubs, and the second of two in Edmonton. The Stars earned a 6-2 victory at Rogers Place on Nov. 5, 2022 but fell 6-3 at home on Dec. 21, 2022. Dallas will close out this road trip on Saturday in Calgary.

- Captain Jamie Benn recorded his seventh career hat trick (3-0—3) in the series opener in Edmonton. Benn, who has four points (3- 1—4) in two games against the Oilers this season, ranks second among active Stars in goals (23) and points (23-17—40) in 39 career games against them. He also leads the club in game-winning goals (5) and ranks second in power-play tallies (7) against them.
- Forward Max Domi enters tonight’s game with three goals and six points (3-3—6) in three games against Edmonton in 2022-23. Domi is averaging better than a point per game vs. the Oilers in his career with 21 points (12-9—21) in 20 career games.
