The Hurricanes earned a 5-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets at PNC Arena on Tuesday, breaking a two-game scoring drought. Jesperi Kotkaniemi (1g, 2a), Brady Skjei (1g, 1a), Jaccob Slavin (1g) and Jack Drury (1g) each scored for Carolina, with Drury’s goal marking the first game winner of his NHL/Hurricanes career. Stefan Noesen also registered his second fighting major of the season and tallied an assist to set a new career high in scoring, while Frederik Andersen made 21 saves in net to improve to 17-7-0 in 2022-23.

The Hurricanes are set to face the Maple Leafs on St. Patrick’s Day for the second consecutive season, after suffering a 3-2 loss in Toronto on 3/17/22. Jaccob Slavin assisted on both of Carolina’s goals, scored by Ethan Bear and Vincent Trocheck, and Frederik Andersen made 18 saves in defeat. Friday’s contest will mark the 14th St. Patrick’s Day game in franchise history, and Hartford/ Carolina is currently 4-8-0-1 on the holiday (3-4-0-1 since relocation). The Hurricanes’ last March 17 win came in 2012, as they earned a 5-3 win at MIN.
