LAST GAME
The Hurricanes suffered a 5-2 loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena on Friday, falling in Toronto on St. Patrick’s Day for the second straight season. Martin Necas and Brady Skjei each scored for Carolina, marking Skjei’s second straight game with a goal. HURRICANES vs. FLYERS SERIES NOTES
— Carolina is facing Philadelphia in the fourth and final meeting between the teams during the 2022-23 season.

— The Hurricanes and Flyers are meeting for the 156th time in their regular-season histories. Carolina holds a 53-73-14-15 overall record, including a 24-39-5-9 road record.

— The Hurricanes lead the season series 3-0-0 in 2022-23 (Flyers: 0-2-1), and they are 11-4-0 in the teams’ last 15 meetings dating back to 12/31/18 (Philadelphia: 4-8-3).

Carolina’s streak tied for the second-longest such streak in franchise history and tied for the longest such streak by any NHL team this season (MIN, 2/8-2/28: 24-for-24). Despite allowing a goal on the man-advantage, the Hurricanes have held the opposing power play scoreless in 21 of their last 27 games (1/10-3/17), with a 91.7% kill rate over that span (66-for-72). They now rank second in the NHL in that category (83.6%), trailing only BOS (85.7%).
