MLS Preview: FC Dallas (6-3-5) at Sporting Kansas City (3-8-4)

FC Dallas, who recorded a 21 home win over Sporting Kansas City on March 18, is unbeaten in it last six MLS away matches against Sporting Kansas City (W4 D2). FC Dallas has never gone seven straight regular season road matches against a single opponent without a loss in club history.

Sporting Kansas City recorded its third win of the season on Sunday, defeating the Portland Timbers, 4-1, at home. Sporting Kansas City has scored nine goals in its three league wins this season (3.0 per match) but has totaled just four goals in its other 12 MLS games (0.33 per match, D4 L8).

FC Dallas is unbeaten in five straight matches following a 1-1 draw at the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday (W2 D3). Dallas has had just one longer unbeaten run in regular season play since the start of the 2019 season, gong nine in a row without a loss in March-May last season (W6 D3).

Daniel Salloi has scored 10 career goals in 17 appearances against FC Dallas in all competitions in his career, twice as many as he’s scored against any other MLS opponent. The only other player to score more than five goals against FC Dallas in all competitions since Salloi joined MLS in 2017 is Johnny Russell (6).

Jesus Ferreira has been involved in a goal in each of his last three MLS games against Sporting Kansas City (2 goals, 1 assist). The only FC Dallas player to record goal contributions in at least four straight games against Sporting Kansas City was Jesus’ father David Ferreira, who did so in 5 straight games from 2009-2013.
