MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has waived guard Evina Westbrook.

Westbrook, a 6-0 rookie guard, signed with the Lynx on May 13 and appeared in 14 contests (two starts) for Minnesota, averaging 2.6 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 12.3 minutes per game.

Selected in the second round (21st overall) in the 2022 WNBA Draft by the Seattle Storm, Westbrook spent her final two college seasons at the University of Connecticut after a two-year stint with Tennessee. She closed out her career leading the Huskies to a pair of Final Four appearances, including the title game in 2022. She averaged 9.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.4 steals during the 2021-22 season.

The Lynx will visit the Chicago Sky on Sunday, June 26. Tipoff is at 5:00 p.m. CT and will broadcast locally on Bally Sports North and nationally on CBS Sports Network.
