WNBA Preview: Seattle Storm (4-12) at Connecticut Sun (12-5)

The Connecticut Sun look to snap a season-high two-game losing skid on Thursday when they host the Seattle Storm in Uncasville, Conn.

The Sun (12-5) followed up a season-best four-game winning streak with an 89-81 setback versus the New York Liberty on June 27 and a 102-84 loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Saturday.

DeWanna Bonner, who scored 19 points against the Aces, had 20 in Connecticut’s 85-79 victory at Seattle on June 20. Alyssa Thomas secured her fifth career triple-double in that clash versus the Storm, finishing with 13 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists.

Unfortunately for the Sun, they still are trying to get back on track after seeing star center Brionna Jones sustain a season-ending Achilles tear against Seattle.

The Storm (4-12) dropped their third straight decision and fifth in their last six games following an 81-66 setback to former teammate Breanna Stewart and the Liberty on Sunday.

Jewell Loyd, who erupted for 33 points in the previous game versus Connecticut, finished with 27 against New York. She averages a WNBA-best 25.8 points per game.

The Storm added some firepower Monday after agreeing to a contract with guard/forward Gabby Williams, who shot 44.4 percent from the floor last season. She averaged 7.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.5 steals for Seattle in 2022.
