WNBA: Atlanta Dream Sign Lorela Cubaj to Training Camp Contract

The Atlanta Dream announced today that they have signed 6-4 forward Lorela Cubaj to a contract for training camp.

Cubaj, or coo-BYE, received the No. On draft night, the New York Liberty acquired the Seattle Storm’s 18th overall selection in the WNBA Draft. She played 8.0 minutes per game in 11 games for the Liberty, averaging 0.7 points and 2.1 rebounds.

After a successful five-year career at Georgia Tech, where she was named the ACC Co-Defensive Player of the Year in her senior year in 2021, Cubaj returns to Atlanta for the first time this summer. She averaged a double-double of 10.1 points and 11.1 rebounds in her final season with the Yellow Jackets, making 41.9 percent of her field goal attempts (125-298).

Cubaj, who was born in Terni, Italy, has been a member of Umana Reyer Venezia this season. In 20 games, she has averaged 5.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 0.8 steals.
