CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s series opener vs. Seattle, the Chicago White Sox reinstated outfielder Eloy Jiménez from the Paternity List and optioned right-handed pitcher Declan Cronin to Class AAA Charlotte.
Jiménez, 26, was placed on the Paternity List on Friday and missed the three-game series at Colorado. He is hitting .277/.320/.452 (89-321) with 14 doubles, 14 home runs and 50 RBI in 84 games this season, his fifth with the White Sox.
Cronin, 25, recorded a 7.71 ERA (6 ER/7.0 IP) and six strikeouts over five relief appearances with the Sox after his contract was selected from Charlotte on July 28. He made his major-league debut on July 30 vs. Cleveland.
