CHICAGO – Prior to today’s game vs. Detroit, the Chicago White Sox reinstated rookie outfielder Andrew Vaughn from the injured list and optioned infielder/outfielder Gavin Sheets to Class AAA Charlotte.
Vaughn, 23, was placed on the injured list on Thursday. He is hitting .226 (31-137) with 11 doubles, four home runs, 12 RBI and 19 runs scored over 43 games in 2021, his first in the major leagues.
Sheets, 25, did not appear in a game with the White Sox after being recalled from Charlotte on Thursday. He is batting .319/.360/.500 (30-94) with five doubles, four home runs, 20 RBI and 11 runs scored over 23 games with the Knights this season.
