White Sox place Ryan Tepera on injured list, recall Jace Fry from Triple-A Charlotte

CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s series opener vs. the Los Angeles Angels, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Ryan Tepera on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to September 11) with a right index finger laceration and recalled left-handed pitcher Jace Fry from Class AAA Charlotte.

 

Fry, 28, is 1-4 with a 2.39 ERA (10 ER/37.2 IP), 0.96 WHIP, .147 (19-129) opponents average, two saves and 56 strikeouts in 32 relief appearances with Charlotte in 2021. He also has made two relief appearances with the White Sox, going 0-0 with a 13.50 ERA (3 ER/2.0 IP).

 

Tepera, 33, is 0-2 with a 2.88 ERA (19 ER/59.1 IP), 21 holds, two saves and 72 strikeouts between the Cubs and White Sox this season. Tepera was acquired from the Cubs in exchange for minor-league left-hander Bailey Horn on July 29.
