CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s series opener vs. Minnesota, the Chicago White Sox made the following four roster moves:
· Reinstated RHP Liam Hendriks from the 15-day injured list;
· Reinstated OF Adam Engel from the 10-day injured list;
· Optioned OF Adam Haseley and RHP Jimmy Lambert to Class AAA Charlotte.
Hendriks, 33, was placed on the injured list on June 14 (retroactive to June 11) with a right forearm strain. He has gone 1-2 with a 2.81 ERA (8 ER/25.2 IP), 37 strikeouts (12.97 per 9.0 IP) and 16 saves over 25 appearances this season.
At the time of his IL placement, Hendriks was tied for the American League lead in saves after leading the AL in 2021 with 38. He has made 10 straight scoreless outings, allowing four hits with 14 strikeouts and seven saves in seven chances.
Engel, 30, was placed on the injured list on June 23 with a strained right hamstring. He is batting .240/.297/.349 (35-146) with 11 doubles, one home run, 10 RBI, 18 runs scored and nine stolen bases in 56 games this season.
Haseley, 26, is hitting .250 (5-20) with two RBI and three runs scored in 11 games over two stints with the White Sox in 2022.
Lambert, 27, is 0-2 with a 3.45 ERA (6 ER/15.2 IP) and 13 strikeouts in nine games (two starts) over three stints with the Sox this season.
