White Sox announce three roster moves

CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s series opener vs. Houston, the Chicago White Sox returned third baseman Yoán Moncada from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the injured list, optioned infielder Lenyn Sosa to Charlotte and outrighted right-handed pitcher Alexander Colomé to Charlotte.

Moncada, who went 8-14 (.571) with two home runs, four RBI, four walks and five runs scored during his rehab assignment with the Knights, has been on the injured list since April 11 with lower back soreness. He is hitting .308/.325/.564 (12-39) with four doubles, two home runs, five RBI and four runs scored in nine games this season with Chicago.

Sosa is 9-68 (.132) with three doubles, a homer and three RBI in 22 games over two stints with the White Sox this season.

Colomé was designated for assignment on Wednesday after going 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA (2 ER/3.0 IP) and two strikeouts in four relief appearances with the Sox.
