KANSAS CITY – Prior to today’s doubleheader at Kansas City, the Chicago White Sox added right-handed pitcher Davis Martin from Class AAA Charlotte to serve as the 27th player. Martin will start Game 2 of today’s twinbill.
Martin has made seven appearances (three starts) in six stints with the White Sox this season, going 1-3 with a 4.75 ERA (16 ER/30.1 IP) and 23 strikeouts. He has worked at least 5.0 IP in five appearances, including a career-high 6.0 in his last start on July 12 (Game 1) at Cleveland.
Martin is 5-4 with a 4.20 ERA (30 ER/64.1 IP) and 84 strikeouts in 14 starts between Charlotte and Class AA Birmingham this season.
