Cody Stashak optioned to Triple-A St. Paul

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Juan Minaya from Triple-A St. Paul.

Minaya, 30, appeared in seven games for the Saints, going 1-2 with a 5.11 ERA (12.1 IP, 7 ER), one home run allowed, four walks, 16 strikeouts and an opponent batting average of .264 (14-for-53). The right-hander spent most of the 2020 season at the alternate training site in St. Paul and had his contract selected by the Twins in late August, but did not appear for Minnesota. To make room for Minaya on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned right-handed pitcher Cody Stashak to Triple-A St. Paul. Stashak appeared in 15 games for the Twins, posting a 6.89 ERA (15.2 IP, 12 ER) with 10 walks and 26 strikeouts.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Twins have designated right-handed pitcher Dakota Chalmers for release or assignment. Chalmers appeared in five games (2 starts) for Double-A Wichita, posting a 9.49 ERA (12.1 IP, 13 ER), with 15 walks and 13 strikeouts.
