Twins reinstate Ryan Jeffers from 60-day injured list

Sandy León placed on 10-day Injured List

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have returned catcher Ryan Jeffers from rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 60-day Injured List.

Jeffers, who has missed the Twins’ last 62 games after having surgery on his right thumb, played in nine games on rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul, going 8-for-35 with one double, three home runs, seven RBI and four walks. Prior to landing on the Injured List on July 15, Jeffers played in 60 games for the Twins, hitting .214 (41-for-192) with 10 doubles, seven home runs and 25 RBI.

To make room for Jeffers on the 28-man roster, the Twins have placed catcher Sandy León on the 10-day Injured List (retroactive to September 24), as he will undergo right knee meniscus surgery. León, who was acquired by the Twins via trade with Cleveland on August 2, played in 25 games for the Twins, going 10-for-56 with six runs scored, three doubles, four RBI and seven walks.
