Ben Rortvedt recalled from Triple-A St. Paul
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed catcher Mitch Garver on the Paternity List.
Garver and his wife, Sarah, are awaiting the arrival of their first child. The 30-year-old was reinstated from the 10-day Injured List on Monday and has gone 2-for-6 with two home runs in two games since. He’s batting .230 (28-for-122) with eight doubles, 10 home runs, 19 RBI, 19 runs scored and an .884 OPS in 43 games overall this season.
To replace Garver on the 26-man roster, the Twins have recalled catcher Ben Rortvedt from Triple-A St. Paul. Rortvedt, who was optioned to the Saints on Monday, is making his third stint with the Twins this season and has gone 9-for-70 (.129) with one double, two home runs and five RBI in 30 games.
