- In Week 3, two teams advanced to 3-0: MIAMI and PHILADELPHIA. The New York Giants (2-0) host Dallas on Monday Night Football and can advance to 3-0 for the first time since 2009.
Thirty teams have at least one win through the first three weeks for the second time since 2002, joining the 2012 season (30 of 32). It also marks the fifth time since 1970 that there are only two winless teams through the first three weeks of a season, joining the 1988, 1989, 1990 and 2012 seasons.
Seven teams – BALTIMORE, CHICAGO, CLEVELAND, JACKSONVILLE, MIAMI, MINNESOTA and the NEW YORK GIANTS – have won at least two of their first three games after missing the postseason in 2021. The Denver Broncos (1-1) can also join this group with a win against San Francisco on Sunday Night Football. - With two games yet to be completed in Week 3, there have been 17 games decided by three points or fewer this season, the most such games through the first three weeks of a season in NFL history.
There have been 24 games this season decided by six-or-fewer points, tied with 2013 (24 games) for the most such games ever through the first three weeks.
Eleven of 14 games (78.6 percent) completed in Week 3 have been within one score (eight points) in the fourth quarter.
There have been 12 games this season decided by a game-winning score in the final two minutes of regulation or in overtime, tied for the fourth-most such games through Week 3 all-time. Only 2013 (13 games), 2012 (13) and 1979 (13) had more. - With two games yet to be completed in Week 3, there have been 11 teams to win or tie after trailing in the fourth quarter, tied for the fourth-most such teams ever through the first three weeks. Only 2013 (14), 1997 (14) and 2016 (12) had more.
There have been five teams that have overcome a deficit of at least 14 points to win or tie this season, tied for the third-most such teams through Week 3 all-time, trailing only the 2011 (six) and 1979 (six) seasons.
There have been nine teams that have overcome a deficit of at least 10 points to win or tie this season, tied for the fourth-most such teams ever through the first three weeks, trailing only 2011 (11 teams), 1987 (11) and 2020 (10). - Baltimore quarterback LAMAR JACKSON recorded four touchdown passes with a 110.3 rating and added 107 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown in the Ravens’ 37-26 win over New England.
Jackson is the second player in NFL history to record at least four touchdown passes, 100 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown in a single game, joining RANDALL CUNNINGHAM (four touchdown passes, 124 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown on November 4, 1990).
Jackson, who recorded three touchdown passes and 119 rushing yards in Week 2, is the first player in the Super Bowl era to record at least three touchdown passes and 100-or-more rushing yards in consecutive games.
Baltimore kicker JUSTIN TUCKER recorded his 50th career field goal of at least 50 yards and is the fourth player ever with 50 career 50-yard field goals, joining MATT PRATER (66), SEBASTIAN JANIKOWSKI (58) and JASON HANSON (52). - Green Bay quarterback AARON RODGERS passed for 255 yards with two touchdowns and one interception for a 103.9 rating in the Packers’ 14-12 win at Tampa Bay.
Rodgers has 143 career games with at least two touchdown passes and surpassed PHILIP RIVERS (142 games) for the fifth-most such games all-time. Only TOM BRADY (198), DREW BREES (173) and Pro Football Hall of Famers PEYTON MANNING (165) and BRETT FAVRE (159) have more. - Miami wide receiver JAYLEN WADDLE, appearing in his 19th career game, recorded four receptions for 102 yards in the Dolphins’ 21-19 win over Buffalo.
Waddle has 123 receptions in 19 career games and surpassed ANQUAN BOLDIN (121 receptions) and MICHAEL THOMAS (120) for the second-most receptions by a player in his first 20 career games in NFL history. Only ODELL BECKHAM JR. (141 receptions) has more. - Minnesota wide receiver ADAM THIELEN recorded his 50th career touchdown reception in the Vikings’ comeback victory over Detroit in Week 3.
Thielen is the fourth undrafted player since 1967 with at least 50 career touchdown receptions, joining ANTONIO GATES (116 touchdown receptions), ROD SMITH (68) and WES WELKER (50).
