RENTON, WASH. – Seattle Reign FC announced today that the club and veteran goalkeeper Cassie Miller have exercised the mutual option on her contract, securing her place on the roster through the 2026 NWSL season.

Miller, a six-year NWSL veteran, was acquired in a trade with NJ/NY Gotham FC ahead of the 2025 campaign. Though she has yet to make her on-field debut for the Reign due to injury, her impact has already been felt throughout the organization.

“We’re thrilled to have Cassie back for another season,” said Reign FC General Manager Lesle Gallimore. “Even while sidelined, she’s brought an elite level of professionalism, leadership, and positivity to our locker room. Her competitive spirit and commitment to excellence are contagious. Off the field, her dedication to community engagement has been equally inspiring, which is why she’s our nominee for the 2025 Lauren Holiday Community Impact Award. Cassie truly represents what it means to be part of this club.”

Miller was placed on the 45-Day Injury List on June 3 after sustaining an injury during training. Despite the setback, she has remained an active and influential presence within the team. Prior to joining Seattle, Miller made 31 career NWSL starts across three clubs, recording 11 clean sheets and 81 saves. She played a pivotal role in Chicago Stars FC’s run to the 2021 NWSL Championship, posting back-to-back shutouts in the playoffs.

Off the pitch, Miller has quickly become a community leader in the Pacific Northwest. She was recently named Seattle Reign FC’s nominee for the Lauren Holiday Impact Award, presented by Nationwide, which honors players making meaningful contributions in their communities. Miller was recognized for her work with the Nick of Time Foundation, a Seattle-based nonprofit focused on youth heart health through screenings, emergency preparedness, and CPR education.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue building something special with the Reign,” said Miller. “This club stands for more than just soccer—it’s about values, community, and connection. I’m proud to be part of that and excited to keep growing both on and off the field. Making a difference here in the Pacific Northwest means everything to me. Let’s go Reign!”

A native of Arizona, Miller played collegiately at Florida State University, where she set a program record with 48 career shutouts and helped lead the Seminoles to their first-ever NCAA College Cup title in 2014.
