Red Wings’ Rasmussen Suspended Two Games for High-Sticking

NEW YORK – Detroit Red Wings forward Michael Rasmussen has been suspended for two games, without pay, for high-sticking Boston Bruins forward David Krejci during NHL Game No. 111 in Boston on Thursday, Oct. 27, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 8:00 of the second period. Rasmussen was assessed a minor penalty for high-sticking.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Rasmussen will forfeit $15,783.78. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
