Red sox place outfielder Jarren Duran on COVID-19 related injured list

Club recalls catcher Connor Wong from Triple-A Worcester

 

BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox today placed outfielder Jarren Duran on the COVID-19 Related Injured list. To fill Duran’s spot on the active roster, the club recalled catcher Connor Wong from Triple-A Worcester.

 

Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom made the announcement.

 

Duran, 24, has hit .215 (23-for-107) with three doubles, two triples, two home runs, and 10 RBI in 33 games for Boston this season. The left-handed hitter, who made his major league debut on July 17, has made 25 starts in center field and one in left field.

 

Wong, 25, is batting .308 (4-for-13) with one double, one triple, and one RBI in six games for Boston this season, his major league debut. In 21 games for Worcester since the beginning of July, the right-handed hitter has batted .313 (26-for-83) with an .887 OPS, seven doubles, four home runs, and 14 RBI.
