BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox today made the following roster moves:
Signed infielder José Iglesias to a major league contract and added him to the active roster. He will wear number 12.
Reinstated left-handed pitcher Josh Taylor from the COVID-19 Related Injured List.
Selected right-handed pitcher Michael Feliz to the active major league roster. He will wear number 48.
Returned right-handed pitcher Kutter Crawford to Triple-A Worcester following yesterday’s game against Cleveland.
Returned infielder Jack López and right-handed pitcher John Schreiber to Worcester.

Iglesias, 31, began his professional career in the Red Sox organization after signing with the club as an international free agent on September 8, 2009. A native of Cuba, he has hit .276 (902-for-3,272) with 43 home runs in 955 major league games with the Red Sox (2011-13), Detroit Tigers (2013-18), Cincinnati Reds (2019), Baltimore Orioles (2020), and Los Angeles Angels (2021). Iglesias has made 854 starts at shortstop, as well as 36 at third base and one at second base.
In 114 games with the Angels this season, Iglesias hit .259 (110-for-424) with a .670 OPS, 23 doubles, one triple, and eight home runs. Against the Red Sox at Fenway Park in his career, he has batted .354 (29-for-82) with 11 doubles and two home runs in 22 games.
Taylor, 28, has appeared in a career-high 54 games this season, posting a 3.38 ERA (16 ER/42.2 IP) with 54 strikeouts. In 45 outings since April 30, the left-hander has recorded a 1.83 ERA (7 ER/34.1 IP), a 1.19 WHIP, and a .195 opponent batting average.
Feliz, 28, has made 222 major league appearances (one start) with the Houston Astros (2015-17), Pittsburgh Pirates (2018-21), and Cincinnati Reds (2021). The right-hander is 17-9 with a 5.38 ERA (144 ER/241.0 IP) and 11.91 strikeouts per 9.0 innings (319 strikeouts) in his big league career. A native of the Dominican Republic, he appeared in two games with Worcester this season, allowing zero runs in 2.0 innings with four strikeouts, zero walks, and one hit allowed.
Crawford, 25, made his major league debut yesterday against Cleveland, allowing five runs in 2.0 innings with two strikeouts and two walks. Selected by the Red Sox in the 16th round of the 2017 June Draft, the right-hander is 17-20 with a 3.56 ERA (122 ER/308.2 IP) in 63 career minor league appearances (62 starts).
López, 28, made his first appearance on an active major league roster and started five games at second base, going 2-for-12 (.167) with two doubles and one walk. The right-handed hitter has split the 2021 minor league season between Worcester (58 games) and Double-A Portland (five games), combining to hit .274 (59-for-215) with 20 extra-base hits and 39 RBI.
Schreiber, 27, made his Red Sox debut yesterday, throwing 3.0 innings and giving up only one run with five strikeouts, one walk, and four hits allowed. The right-hander has made 28 appearances (eight starts) for Worcester this season, going 2-3 with a 3.10 ERA (20 ER/58.0 IP) while throwing at least 2.0 innings in 18 of his outings.
