Rachel Daly named to England Women’s National Team squad for final World Cup Qualifying matches of 2021

HOUSTON – Houston Dash forward Rachel Daly was named to the England Women’s National Football Team roster for a pair of FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifying matches this month, the Football Association announced earlier today.

 

England will host Austria at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland on Nov. 27 and will face off against Latvia on Nov. 30 at Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster. England currently leads Group D in the UEFA World Cup Qualifying campaign with 12 points from four games.

 

The Houston forward has appeared in 42 career matches for the Lionesses, scoring seven goals, including a brace against Latvia on Oct. 26.  Daly was named to Great Britain’s squad for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, making four appearances in the tournament.

 

Daly appeared in 15 matches this season for Houston, scoring nine goals. The team captain is Houston’s all-time leading scorer across all competitions and in league play.
