The Pittsburgh Pirates today signed the following player from the 2022 First-Year Player Draft. The announcement was made by Joe DelliCarri, Pirates Senior Director of Amateur Scouting.

Hit .300 (51-for-170) with 11 doubles, a team-best 15 home runs and 31 RBI in 51 games in 2022 for the University of South Carolina …Was charged with just two errors in 162 total chances (.988 fielding percentage) at first base in 2022…Was named to the 2018-19 SEC first-year honor roll…Was a USA Today High School Sports All-South Carolina first-team selection in 2018…Was a 2018 Rawlings/Perfect Game All-America honorable mention…Was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 12th round of the 2018 draft, but did not sign…Was signed by Pirates scout Cam Murphy. 

The Pirates have now signed 17 of their 21 selections from this year’s draft, which includes 11 of their first 12 picks.
