Orlando Pride Trades Forward Jodie Taylor to San Diego Wave FC

Pride to receive 2023 NWSL Draft pick or Allocation Money, pending conditions met

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Pride has traded forward Jodie Taylor to expansion side San Diego Wave FC, it was announced today. In exchange, the Pride will receive San Diego’s 2023 NWSL Draft natural Second Round pick, natural Third Round pick or Allocation Money, pending conditions met.

“We want to thank Jodie immensely for her time with the Club. She is a professional in every sense of the word, a wonderful presence to have in and around the team, and a special talent on the field,” Orlando Pride General Manager Ian Fleming said. “We look forward to watching Jodie take strides toward the next steps of her career and wish her nothing but the absolute best for the future.”

“Although my time in Orlando was brief, I have had a great experience and really enjoyed my time at the Club,” Taylor said. “I would like to thank my teammates, the staff, the Club, and the fans for making me feel so welcome and for the opportunity to represent the Pride this season. I wish everyone the best of luck for the future.”

Taylor, 35, signed with the Pride midway through the 2021 NWSL campaign after her rights were acquired by the Club from North Carolina earlier in the year. The English international would go on to make 13 appearances for the Pride to finish out the year, scoring three goals and adding two assists.
