Pride’s complete 22-game regular-season schedule unveiled


ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Pride’s regular-season schedule for the 2022 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) campaign has been announced with the team’s season, presented by Orlando Health, set to begin on Sunday, May 1, against NJ/NY Gotham FC at Exploria Stadium. After taking on Gotham FC in the team’s 2022 home opener presented by Orlando Health, the Pride will head out west for their first meeting against 2022 expansion side Angel City FC, with that matchup scheduled for Sunday, May 8 at 8 p.m. ET before returning home to host the Kansas City Current the following Saturday.

Orlando will then host Angel City for the first time on Aug. 7 before heading out on the road for its inaugural match against the San Diego Wave the following week. The Pride are set to host the Wave for the first time in the Club’s regular-season home finale on Sunday, Sept. 25.

The 2021 NWSL Cup Champion Washington Spirit will make their way to downtown Orlando on Friday, May 27, while the reigning Challenge Cup Champion Portland Thorns will travel to Orlando on Friday, Sept. 9. 

The league’s 10th season will see each of the 12 teams play home and away matches against every other team in the league for the first balanced schedule in league history. All told, each team will play 28 matches including the third edition of the NWSL Challenge Cup, 14 contests in home markets and 14 on the road. 

Six teams will qualify for the NWSL playoffs set to take place beginning in October 2022, with the top two seeds receiving a first-round bye. The 2022 campaign will end with the NWSL Championship the weekend of October 28-30.

Fans will get their first chance to see the Pride, prior to the May 1 regular season opener, when the Challenge Cup kicks off this Saturday at Exploria Stadium. Orlando will welcome the Spirit at 7 p.m. ET, with tickets available to that match and the team’s other two home matches, at the link here

The 2022 regular season will air across The CBS Television Network and CBS Sports Network and stream live on Paramount+. Twitch, the home for all internationally streamed matches, will also stream select games in the United States. Television details for regular-season matches will be shared in the coming weeks.
