Orioles Acquire Tyler Burch From The Philadelphia Phillies In Exchange For Freddy Galvis And Cash Considerations

The Baltimore Orioles today acquired RHP TYLER BURCH from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for INF FREDDY GALVIS and cash considerations. Burch has been assigned to High-A Aberdeen.

 

Burch, 23, went 4-3 with a 3.99 ERA (13 ER/29.1 IP), 49 strikeouts, and a 1.091 WHIP in 23 games between Low-A Clearwater and High-A Jersey Shore this season. Over 35 career minor league games, he has gone 8-4 with a 2.63 ERA (19 ER/65.0 IP) and 83 strikeouts against 14 walks, while posting a 1.031 WHIP. He was originally signed by Philadelphia as a non-drafted free agent out of Lewis-Clark State College (ID) on June 12, 2019.

 

Galvis, 31, appeared in 72 games for the Orioles this season, slashing .249/.306/.414 (62-for-249) with 22 extra-base hits, 36 runs scored, and 26 RBI.
