Oakland Athletics reinstate LHP Harris from paternity list; option RHP Otañez to Las Vegas

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s reinstated left-handed pitcher Hogan Harris from the paternity list and optioned right-handed pitcher Michel Otañez to Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today.

Harris was placed on the paternity list on July 9 after being recalled from Las Vegas May 30 for his third stint with the A’s this year and is 1-3 with a 3.00 ERA in seven starts since his return. He is 1-3 with a 3.22 ERA and .746 opponents OPS in nine games, including seven starts, overall with the A’s.

Otañez joined the A’s for the second time in 2024 on July 9 and pitched twice against Boston, throwing 2.2 scoreless innings with six strikeouts and three walks. The 27-year-old right-hander is 7-1 with a save and a 5.35 ERA in 29 relief appearances overall at Triple-A.
