NHL Preview: Tampa Bay Lightning (4-3-3) at Ottawa Senators (4-5-0)

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING NOTES:

TONIGHT’S MATCHUP

LAST GAME: Nov. 2, 3-2 loss vs Los Angeles: The Kings led 3-0 lead by the game’s midway point courtesy goals from Danault, Grundstrom and Kopitar en route to a third consecutive regulation victory in Ottawa for the first time in franchise history and a 3-2 win over the Senators at Canadian Tire Centre. Kempe provided a game-high two points (two assists) on a night that saw Kubalik and Norris reply for the home side. Former Senator Talbot made 24 saves to earn the win in goal for Los Angeles. Former King Korpisalo made 35 saves in a losing effort for Ottawa. With the victory, Los Angeles improved to 5- 0-0 through five games this season as visitors. WHAT’S NEXT: Ottawa returns to the road when the team visits Toronto on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The contest will mark the first of four meetings between the teams this season and the first of two in the Big Smoke.

INJURY REPORT: Defenceman Artem Zub has missed the team’s five most recent games while defenceman Erik Brannstrom has missed the last two contests; defenceman Thomas Chabot and forward Mark Kastelic are on IR. Forward Ridly Greig is also unexpected to oppose the Lightning this evening. Total man-games lost: 13.

RECENT TRANSACTIONS: Recalled forwards Roby Jarventie and Zack MacEwen from Belleville (AHL) under emergency conditions on Nov. 4.
