-The Penguins hit the road for a three-game road trip to California as they take on the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center (TV: SportsNet Pittsburgh; Radio: 105.9 The X). -Pittsburgh has wins in three of its last four games versus San Jose, and are averaging 4.25 goals per game in those contests. -The Penguins have wins in back-to-back visits to SAP Center. A win tonight would give them their first three-game winning streak in San Jose since Nov. 10, 1995-Oct. 22, 1997 (3-0-0). -Tonight begins the team’s annual trip to California to take on San Jose, Anaheim and Los Angeles. PLAYING THE PENGUINS
The Sharks have had the upper hand against Pittsburgh when it comes to games played at the SAP Center, owning a record of 13-3-1 against the Penguins since 2000-01 in games played in San Jose. The Sharks have earned a point in four of the past five (3-1-1) California-based meetings between the clubs and have held Pittsburgh to eight goals total in those five contests. Last season, San Jose and Pittsburgh split their two meetings with the visiting team taking the win in each matchup.
