The Ducks concluded a four-game road trip by defeating the Metropolitan-leading Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 at PNC Arena Saturday night. John Gibson stopped 51 of 53 shots to earn his second straight win and backstop Anaheim to a 2-0-1 mark his last three starts. With 50-plus saves for the third time this month (also Feb. 10 vs. PIT and Feb. 20 @ FLA), Gibson became the second goaltender since 1955-56 (since shots on goal began being tracked) to register three outings with 50-plus saves in a single month (also Gump Worsley: 52 on Jan. 23, 1963; 50 on Jan. 27, 1963; 50 on Jan. 30, 1963) and the third goaltender in NHL history with three 50-save outings in a single season (also Worsley and Al Rollins in 1955-56). Cam Fowler earned an assist, becoming the first defensemen and sixth skater in Anaheim Ducks history to record 400 career points (90-310=400). Troy Terry scored the game-winning goal at 12:01 of the third period, his second goal in as many games (2-0=2) since missing seven games due to injury. John Klingberg opened the scoring, netting his eighth goal of the campaign in addition to his third point the last two games (1-2=3) and eighth the last eight (2-6=8). Trevor Zegras (0-2=2) and Ryan Strome (0-2=2) each recorded assists on Anaheim’s first two goals.
