NHL Preview: Carolina Hurricanes (25-9-7) at Columbus Blue Jackets (12-26-2)

LAST GAME
The Hurricanes suffered a 5-3 loss against the New Jersey Devils at PNC Arena on Tuesday, extending their winless streak to four games. Sebastian Aho (1g, 1a) tallied two points, and he and Jesperi Kotkaniemi both scored while on the penalty kill, marking Kotkaniemi’s first career shorthanded goal. Max Pacioretty also scored his third goal in two games, and Brady Skjei registered an assist to extend his point streak to three games. Pyotr Kochetkov made 18 saves in net.

HURRICANES vs. BLUE JACKETS SERIES NOTES
— Carolina is facing Columbus in the third and final between the teams during the 2022-23 season.

— The Hurricanes and Blue Jackets are meeting for the 56th time in their regular-season histories. Carolina holds a 29-18-8 overall record, including a 14-10-3 road record.

— Carolina leads the season series 1-0-1 in 2022-23 (Columbus: 1-1-0).

Legace later signed with Carolina as a free agent on 11/9/09 and played 28 games during the 2009-10 season, registering a 10-7-5 record, 2.81 goals-against average, .907 save percentage and one shutout with the Hurricanes.
