THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
• Tonight’s matchup is the third of four games the Kraken will play against the Ducks this season and the second time the teams are playing in Seattle this year. They will conclude their season series on March 30 at Climate Pledge Arena.

• A win or overtime loss tonight would give the Kraken points in four consecutive games against the Ducks dating back to Feb 11, 2022. Seattle is 2-0-1 against Anaheim during that span.

• A win would also give the Kraken their fourth winning streak of at least five games this season.

• The Kraken have scored at least four goals in four of the five games they have played against the Ducks.

• Seattle has a 9-7-2 record against Pacific Division opponents this season and have beaten each of their division rivals at least once.

Seattle has scored 220 goals in 63 games this season compared to 213 goals in 2021-22. The team’s 220 goals this season were the fifth-most in the NHL entering play Monday, trailing only the Edmonton Oilers (248), Boston Bruins (235), Buffalo Sabres (228) and New Jersey Devils (222).

• Since the start of the New Year, the Kraken are tied for second the league in wins (18) and rank third in points (38). The team’s 103 goals ranked second in the league since Jan. 1 entering play Monday.

• Jordan Eberle’s goal in the Kraken’s game on March 3 at Columbus was his 50th point of the season. It is the sixth time in his career and first time since 2017-18 that Eberle has recorded 50 or more points in a season.

• Vince Dunn, who has already set a career high with 48 points (11 goals, 37 assists) this season, was ranked in the top 15 among all NHL defensemen in assists (tied 12th), points (10th), even-strength goals (11, third) and even-strength points (35, tied fourth) entering play Monday.

• Entering play Monday, Adam Larsson, the Rangers’ Jacob Trouba and the Golden Knights’ Brayden McNabb were the only three players to have at least 160 hits and 120 blocks this season.

• Among defensemen that have played at least 70 minutes on the penalty kill this season, Will Borgen, who has totaled 95:35 of
shorthanded ice time this year, was ranked 10th in the NHL with 5.02 power-play goals against per 60 entering play Monday.

CALGARY FLAMES NOTES:

FLAMES LAST GAME RECAP
March 6, 2023 – CALGARY FLAMES [5] at DALLAS STARS [4]
The Calgary Flames began a quick two-game trip in Dallas last night. Calgary would open the scoring with Nick Ritchie netting his first as a Flame, the lone tally of the first. In the second, Troy Stecher would find Nikita Zadorov who one-timed his ninth of the season past Jake Oettinger to extend the Flames lead to 2-0 with Stecher recording his first point as a Flame on the play. Dallas would respond with a pair of goals from Jason Robertson and Max Domi to tie the game at two. Elias Lindholm would restore the Flames lead just before the break with his 18th on the campaign, and the score read 3-2 Flames through 40. In the third, Rasmus Andersson gave the Flames their second two-goal lead with his eighth 4:24 into the final stanza. Roope Hintz would draw Dallas within one, before Dallas captain Jamie Benn leveled the score with just over five minutes left in the period. But just as it looked like the contest was destined for extra time, Jonathan Huberdeau sprung Tyler Toffoli on a breakaway, and the Flames leading scorer buried his 26th with just seven seconds remaining to give the Flames a 5-4 lead. Calgary would close out the remaining seven seconds to get back in the win column.
