Los Angeles FC has won nine of the 11 MLS meetings with Real Salt Lake, (L2, including playoffs), including winning the last five in a row. The five straight defeats to LAFC is Real Salt Lake’s longest losing streak against a single opponent in the club’s history.
Los Angeles FC has lost three straight matches immediately followings its seven-match winning streak. LAFC is the first team to follow a regular season winning streak of seven or more games with a losing streak with at least three games since Sporting Kansas City in 2011-12.
Real Salt Lake is unbeaten in three straight road games (W1 D2) in a single regular season for the first three road games of 2020. RSL’s five points in those three road games equals its total from its previous nine away league games (W1 D2 L6) dating back to late March.
Cristian Arango has scored a brace in each of his first two matches against Real Salt Lake. The last player to score multiple goals in three straight games against a single opponent was David Villa for NYCFC against Toronto in 2015-16.
Anderson Julio came off the bench to score for the second straight match as Real Salt Lake beat Minnesota United on Wednesday. Julio’s nine goals as a sub since the start of the last season are the most in MLS in that time.
