Toronto FC and New England played a scoreless draw in Foxborough on July 30. Toronto has recorded one victory over the Revs each of the last six seasons beginning in 2016.

Toronto FC extended its unbeaten run to four games (W3 D1) with a 3-1 win over the Timbers on Saturday. The Reds have collected 10 points in those four matches after totaling just eight points in their previous 14 MLS games (W2 D2 L10).

New England has won consecutive matches for the first time this season after a 1-0 win over D.C. United on Saturday. The Revs have kept four straight clean sheets for the third time in club history and the first since May-June 2013. New England has never kept a clean sheet in five straight MLS matches.

Federico Bernardeschi has three goals and two assists in his first four MLS appearances, including scoring in both home matches with Toronto. Bernardeschi is the third Toronto player to score in his first two home matches with the club, joining Robert Earnshaw (2013) and O’Brian White (2009), though no player has scored in their first three home matches for the Reds.

Two of New England’s four clean sheets in its current shutout streak have been on the road, the second straight season they’ve had a run of consecutive away shutouts after not doing so from 2014-20. The Revs have never kept a clean sheet in three straight away matches in its MLS history.
