MLS Preview: Los Angeles Football Club (11-6-7) at Charlotte FC (6-9-8)

The Los Angeles Football Club defeated Charlotte FC, 5-0, in August 2022, the heaviest defeat in Charlotte FC’s history. The win was one of four times the Los Angeles Football Club has outscored its opponent by five or more goals in a match in its MLS history.

Charlotte FC has lost only one of its last 12 home matches in all competitions (W6 D5). Charlotte FC is unbeaten in four straight home matches in all competitions (W1 D3), though the last three regular-season matches at Bank of America Stadium have been drawn.

The Los Angeles Football Club has won four of its last six games in all competitions (D1 L1), including a 4-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday. The Los Angeles Football Club scored at least three goals in all four wins as their 13 matches with three or more goals in all competitions this year are more than any other MLS team in 2023.

Charlotte FC has attempted 68.4 percent of its shots from inside the box this season, second-highest in MLS behind only the Chicago Fire (70.6%).

Carlos Vela recorded a goal and an assist in the Los Angeles Football Club’s win over the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday, his 22nd regular-season game with a goal and an assist. Since 2000, only Landon Donavon (35) has had more regular-season games with both a goal and an assist.
