MLS Decision Day Preview: Real Salt Lake (13-10-8) at Colorado Rapids (5-16-12)

Real Salt Lake has won each of its first two matches against the Colorado Rapids this season, including a 3-2 toad win in May. Real Salt Lake has 18 regular-season wins over the Colorado Rapids (D4 L5) since the start of the 2014 season, three more than any other team against a s single opponent over the last 10 MLS seasons.

A win on the final day of the season would take Real Salt Lake to the 50-point mark for just the second time since 2015 (53 in 2019). A win by one or two goals over the Colorado Rapids would make Real Salt Lake (currently minus – 3 goal difference) the sixth team in MLS history to reach 50 points with a negative goal difference.

The Colorado Rapids have scored in seven straight matches after failing to fid the net in nine of its previous 10 regular-season matches. The Colorado Rapids have 10 goals over those seven games after scoring only 16 times in their first 26 regular-season matches in 2023.
