CHESTER, Pa. – The Philadelphia Union fell to New England Revolution at home Friday night at Subaru Park in a 1-0 loss. New England struck first in the first half with a goal in the 33rd minute from Matt Polster. The Union fought for an equalizer in the second half. New England’s Traustason would be ejected following his second yellow card in the 59th minute, leaving the Union with a man advantage for the rest of the match. However, The Boys in Blue were unable to find an equalizer before the match ended.

 

The Union are home at Subaru Park to take on Club America for leg two of the Concacaf Champions League Semi Final on Wednesday, September 15 (9:00 p.m. ET / FS1).

Goalkeeper Joe Bendik earned his second start of the 2021 season in net for the Boys in Blue. Bendik’s previous start came against D.C. United on July 17th in a 2-1 Union win.

 

Homegrown Nathan Harriel made his MLS debut as a starter at right back tonight. Harriel became the 12th homegrown to start for the Union all-time and the fourth homegrown to get his first start in 2021.

 

Center back Stuart Findlay earned his third start of the season tonight.

 

Left back Kai Wagner made his 65th MLS start tonight for the Boys in Blue.

 

Homegrown Jack McGlynn earned his fifth MLS start and his 13th appearances in his rookie campaign.
