Dodgers reinstate Kenley Jansen

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated right-handed pitcher Kenley Jansen from the paternity list and optioned right-handed pitcher Mitch White.

 

Jansen, 33, returns after missing two games and he is 2-4 with a 2.43 ERA (16 ER/59.1 IP) and 32 saves this season for the Dodgers. He has converted 11 straight saves, posing a 1-0 record with a 1.29 ERA (3 ER/21.0 IP) and 26 strikeouts in that span. In his 12-year career with the Dodgers, he is 35-26 with a 2.39 ERA and 344 career saves. He is the franchise leader in saves and ranks 14th all-time in the category.

 

White, 25, pitched two scoreless innings last night, striking out one. He is 1-3 with a 3.74 ERA (19 ER/45.2 IP) and 48 strikeouts in 20 games for the Dodgers. He has spent parts of the season with Low-A Rancho Cucamonga and Triple-A Oklahoma City, going a combined 3-0 with a 2.02 ERA (8 ER/35.2 IP) and 42 strikeouts in 10 games. The former second rounder out of Santa Clara University is 2-3 with a 3.51 ERA (19 ER/48.2 IP) in 22 career MLB games.
