Dodgers recall Justin Bruihl

LOS ANGELES –The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled left-handed pitcher Justin Bruihl and placed left-handed pitcher David Price on the family medical emergency list. 

Bruihl, 25, returns for his third stint with the Dodgers and he is 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA (7 ER/16.1 IP) and 10 strikeouts in 17 games for the Boys in Blue. With Triple-A Oklahoma City, he was 1-0 with a 2.89 ERA (3 ER/9.1 IP) and 10 strikeouts in seven games. He is in his second season with the Dodgers, and he is a combined 1-2 with a 3.34 ERA (13 ER/35.0 IP) and 21 strikeouts in 38 combined games. He was originally signed by the Dodgers as a non-drafted free agent on July 15, 2017.

Price, 36, pitched last night, tossing a scoreless inning with one strikeout. The southpaw has fired six straight scoreless appearances and he is 0-0 with a 3.20 ERA (7 ER/19.1 IP) and 24 strikeouts in 19 games for the Dodgers this season. He is in his 14th Major League season and is a combined 155-82 with a 3.33 ERA (786 ER/2123.0 IP) and 2,063 strikeouts. The 2012 Cy Young Award winner was originally drafted by the Tampa Rays with the first overall pick in the 2007 First Year Player Draft out Vanderbilt University.
