LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed catcher Chad Wallach off waivers from the Miami Marlins.
Wallach, 29, was designated for assignment on July 24 after appearing in 22 games for the Marlins this season. On the campaign, he hit .200 (12-for-60) with two doubles, one triple and six RBI. In a Major League career that spans parts of five seasons with Cincinnati (2017) and Miami (2018-21), he is a career .207 hitter with three homers and 20 RBI. He was originally drafted by the Marlins in fifth round of the 2013 First Year Player Draft by the Miami Marlins out of Cal State Fullerton.
