Dodgers activate David Price

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers activated left-handed pitcher David Price from the injured list and optioned right-handed pitcher Andre Jackson to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Price, 37, returns after missing 23 days with left wrist inflammation. He has made 38 appearances for the Dodgers this season, posting a 2-0 record with a 2.58 ERA (11 ER/38.1 IP). The former 2012 Cy Young has been in the Major Leagues 14 seasons, and he is a combined 157-82 with a 3.32 ERA (790 ER/ 2141.2 IP) and 2,072 career strikeouts. He was the number one selection in the 2007 First Year Player Draft out of Vanderbilt University.

Jackson, 26, recorded the save on Sunday, tossing 3.0 innings, striking out three without allowing a run. He has made three appearances this season, going 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA (0 ER/5.2 IP) and six strikeouts. In his Major League career, he is 0-1 with a 1.56 ERA (3 ER/17.1 IP) and 16 strikeouts in six games. In 21 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City, he is 2-7 with a 5.00 ERA (42 ER/75.2 IP) and 76 strikeouts. He was originally drafted in the 12th round of the 2017 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Utah.
