Canucks acquire Goaltender Spencer Martin

Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has acquired goaltender Spencer Martin from the Tampa Bay Lightning for future considerations.


Martin, 26, appeared in 15 games for the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch last season, posting a 7-5-2 record along with a 2.83 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage. The 6’3″, 191-pound netminder has played in three career NHL games with the Avalanche. In 173 career AHL games, Martin has posted a record of 68-76-9.


The Oakville, Ontario, native was originally selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the third round, 63rd overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
