‘Canes agree to terms with Sam Miletic

Forward has skated in 132 career AHL games

 

RALEIGH, N.C. – Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has signed forward Sam Miletic to a one-year, two-way contract. The deal will pay Miletic $750,000 at the NHL level and $85,000 at the American Hockey League (AHL) level.

 

“Sam is a playmaking forward who has been an All-Star in the AHL,” said Waddell. “We’re excited for him to take the next steps in his development.”

 

Miletic, 24, skated in 21 AHL games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in 2020-21, posting five points (2g, 3a). The 6’0″, 196-pound forward has tallied 72 points (23g, 49a) in 132 career AHL games, all with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, and represented the Atlantic Division at the 2020 AHL All-Star Classic. Prior to turning professional, Miletic played 163 career games with the London Knights and Niagara IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League from 2015-2018, registering 161 points (76g, 85a). He was named to the OHL Second All-Star Team in 2017-18 after finishing sixth in the league with 92 points (36g, 56a) split between London and Niagara. Miletic also posted 27 points (12g, 15a) in 58 USHL games with the Green Bay Gamblers in 2014-15. The Bloomfield Township, Mich., native won a gold medal with the United States at the 2013 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament.
