Brewers acquire infielder Oliver Dunn from Philadelphia Phillies

Send Outfielder Hendry Mendez and Infielder Robert Moore to the Phillies

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired infielder Oliver Dunn from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for outfielder Hendry Mendez and infielder Robert Moore. Dunn has been added to the 40-man roster. The announcement made by Senior Vice President and General Manager Matt Arnold. 

Dunn, 26, batted .271 with 21 HR, 78 RBI and 16 SB in 119 games at Double-A Reading this past season while producing a .396 OBP, .506 SLG and .902 OPS to earn Eastern League All-Star honors. He followed by hitting .342 (25-for-73) with 2 HR, 11 RBI and 12 SB in 19 games with the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League, posting a .455 OBP, .616 SLG and 1.071 OPS. He was selected the Fall Stars Game and was named the Arizona League Breakout Player of the Year.

Dunn, a left-handed hitter, was originally selected by the New York Yankees in the 11th round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Utah. He was then selected by Philadelphia in the Minor League phase of the Rule 5 Draft last Dec. 7.

Mendez, 20, signed with Milwaukee as a non-drafted free agent on Jan. 15, 2021. He played at Class-A Wisconsin in 2023.

Moore, 21, was selected by Milwaukee in Competitive Balance Round B (72nd overall) of the 2022 First-Year Player Draft. He also played at Class-A Wisconsin in 2023.
